Travel Grants

A limited number of travel grants is available. Priority will be given to students and PhD students

  • presenting a paper,
  • presenting a poster,
  • belonging to an under-represented minority at GCB.
Local students (University Alliance Ruhr) interested in attending GCB may apply for a registration fee waiver, especially if they belong to an underrepresented minority.

If none of the above applies, your chances are reduced. In that case please explain in detail how you will contribute to the meeting.

Your application should consist of a short statement explaining (a) whether you belong to any of the above groups and (b) why financial support is necessary. In particular, please explain why your employer does not pay for the travel and/or registration. Please also include a cost estimate for travel, hotel and registration. We may not be able to fully support everyone, so you should expect to pay part of the cost on your own.

Travel grant applications closed on Thursday, 13.08.2015.

Please be aware that your travel costs will be re-imbursed after the conference upon filling in a travel cost declaration form (Reisekostenabrechnung), for which you will need invoices, receipts, tickets, etc. Your registration fee, however, will be paid directly by your grant. Plaese select student registration and indicate that you have received a travel grant on the registration form.
